HCEZ
The Chicago Department of Public Health, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office, has committed more than $9 million to the Healthy Chicago Equity Zones (HCEZ), a 4.5 year initiative that addresses the racial disparities that prevent many Chicago residents from being healthy.
Breaking the city into six regions, the HCEZ collaborates with regional and community organizations to meet the particular needs of Chicago residents to increase their health and wellness outcomes. In the Southwest region, the Southwest Organizing Project is the regional lead.
